I was just doing research on market share for the mobile industry, when I realised that the USA has a population that is equal to 5 Western European nations combined. And these are the 5 most prominent Western European Nations.
These are 2008 data.
France 60,765,983
Italy 59,715,625
United Kingdom 60,587,000
Germany 82,217,800
Spain 45,061,270
USA 304,059,724
Does this mean capturing market share in US alone is enough? Well, maybe not.
Because the entire European Union, not just Western Europe, is really large, at 499,673,300.
Well, and also consider China, 1,329,740,000. That is a holy 4 times the size of the USA.
India 1,145,174,000 . And that’s 3.5 times the size of USA.
Well, these are all really pretty useless numbers actually.
Like, they aren’t even my Facebook friends or anything.
Nor are they on my MSN friends list.
Nor my Skype list.
As a segue to my social networking topic, SHOCKINGLY, the number of CLOSE friends one has over Facebook is just 5.
Yes, 5. FIVE.
According to research, over here:

Take that, you popular people with over 500+ friends! Only 1% of your friends list is CLOSE to you. HahahaHAHAHHA!
Just kidding.

This is not surprising at all. When did social networking sites ever offer the kind of intimacy necessary for maintaining a close friendship?
